Dreamcatcher and Tassel Leather Necklace

Dreamcatchers originated with Ojibwa Native Americans as a means to trap evil spirits that presented in the form of nightmares. The legend of the dreamcatcher is that it captures bad spirits in the web and filters them letting through only good dreams. The belief is that the good dreams slide down the feathers to the sleeping person and the evil spirits caught in the web disappear by perishing in the first light of the morning sun.

The antique silver plated dreamcatcher (1 2/8" x 1 1/8") has a turquoise colored cabochon in the center. The tassel is made of light brown, mustard yellow, and turquoise leather. The brown leather necklace has a distressed matte finish and is adjustable.
